Registration for the upcoming spring season is closed, however, many age groups still have openings available. Click here to enter your registration information, then contact the league director for your child's age group to see if there are any spots available.
As we all know, our scoreboards are almost 20 years old and are beyond repair. We will be installing new scoreboards. We will start with a few fields, then add more as each one gets funded. That is where we need your help in funding the project. There will be four sponsor panels on each scoreboard. If anyone has a business or knows of a company who wishes to advertise, then please contact Sam Goodwin at sgoodwin@baabonline.com. It will certainly be great exposure for a business and would help a worthwhile cause at the same time.
In an effort to improve the safety and playability of the fields at Bethesda Park, we are undertaking a big project to add a special dirt mix to all of the fields to help with drainage and provide for a more even playing surface to make fielding ground balls safer. This project is being funded by concession stand revenues.

The Brookwood Athletic Association for Baseball & Softball (BAAB) would like to express its sincere appreciation to CSX Transportation (Railroad Transportation) for their generous corporate contribution toward our new recycling containers. CSX is the rail line that passes near our park and considers recycling a large part of their Environmental Stewardship Business Practices. CSX strives toward a goal of zero waste . . . and therefore begins all processes with recycling in mind.
BAAB would also like to thank the Matt Norman Family for their generous donation toward our new recycling containers. We appreciate their generosity to our recycling program.
These initial contributions allowed the association to place five recycling containers throughout the park. You may have seen them, as they are bright green! It is not too late to donate. The Association would like to purchase more recycling containers to provide for the recycling of the 800 plastic bottles per week that are sold from the concession stands during peak baseball season. A donation of any amount would be greatly appreciated. These donations will be earmarked specifically for our recycling project and are tax deductible. Recycling is a great way to lead by example in showing our kids the importance of earthly stewardship. For more information on sponsoring a recycling container, please contact Paul Bishop at 404-444-2627.
Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation was recognized as the number one park agency in the nation as it received the coveted Grand Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management from the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration (AAPRA).
In May, GCPR was named one of four finalists for the award in the Class I (population 250,000-up) category, along with Ft. Worth Parks and Community Services Dept., TX, BREC, Recreation and Park Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge, LA, and the City of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services, NV. Finalists then submitted master/strategic plans and 11-minute videos featuring their agency and achievements. The 2008 Gold Medal judging committee determined the Gold Medal winners in each category.
The most prestigious award of its kind, the Gold Medal honors park systems and communities throughout the United States that demonstrate excellence in citizen involvement and support systems, long-range planning, fiscal resource management, environmental stewardship, preservation, technological integration, program planning and assessment, professional development, agency recognition and services for special populations.
You can submit an evaluation of
your team's manager and coach through this website! This is
a very important process because it allows the BAAB Board of
Directors to review the performance of our managers and
coaches -- thus providing you and your child with the best
experience possible. To evaluate your team's manager and
coach, go to your team's page by selecting your league from
the Baseball or Softball menus and then clicking
on your team name. The link to the evaluation form appears
above the game schedule. It only takes a minute, but it's
one of the most important pieces of feedback you can provide
your association.
